RR-14 Regional Director, Atty. Alert B. Alocilja and RDO Ma. Teresa Noemi A. Pizon of Rev. Upon service of the Closure Order on April 16, 2010, Regional Director Alert B. Alocilja, assisted by RDO Ma. Teresa Noemi A. Pizon, Asst. RDO Carlos G. Tambal of Rev. District 90, Maasin City, together with RR-14 officials and RD 90’s revenue enforcement team, have padlocked JYSMI Supermart of Sogod, Southern Leyte, for failure to register as VAT taxpayer & under declaration of more than 30% of its gross receipts.

CTA UPHOLDS BIR, ORDERS ARREST OF FAST CONSTRUCT PROPRIETOR


Quezon City, 31 March 2010 – The Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) has ordered the arrest of Richard C. Santos after finding probable cause in the case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) against the accused for failure to file income tax return and pay the income tax due for calendar years 2001 to 2004 amounting to P 8.9 Million. He quipped, “The subject corporation was not faithful in its VAT declarations when it did not report for purposes of VAT the amount of sales it has actually declared in its income tax return. Its non-filing and non-payment of VAT indeed challenged the authority of the BIR.
