Quezon City, 30 January, 2010 – The Bureau of Internal Revenue issued last January 21, 2010, a directive to all BIR Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) and Revenue District Offices (RDOs) to facilitate without delay the receipt of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) and its attachments, for convenience of taxpayers especially this coming filing season.

As prescribed in Revenue Memorandum Order (RMO) No. 6-2010, ITRs shall be received and stamped on the space provided for, in three copies of the returns. All attachments other than the financial statements shall also be received in the same manner.

For attached financial statement, the same shall be stamped received only on the page of the Audit Certificate. There is no need to stamp “received” on the rest of the pages of the said financial statement and its attachments.

“We have already communicated this change to Hon. Fe B. Barin , Chairman of  Securities & Exchange Commission,” Commissioner Tan-Torres continued saying.

He added, “We want to deliver better service to our taxpayers and avoid problems encountered by them especially  during the tax filing  season.”
